Making a Difference in Our Communities

making a difference in our communities

Another year has come and gone, and here we are reflecting on our accomplishments at the Jarrod Peterson Real Estate Group and Edina Realty. This year, the team again succeeded in making a difference in our communities and made its 247th career charity donation.

“Giving back to the communities in which we live, work, and play has always been a guiding principle for our business,” said Jarrod Peterson, CEO and founder of the award-winning team. “When COVID-19 hit last year and then persisted this year,” he added, “we made the decision to continue supporting organizations that were important to us and our real estate clients.”

Record Contributions to the Crimson Organization

For more than a decade, the Jarrod Peterson Real Estate Group has been the leading real estate donor to the Maple Grove Crimson athletic and other extracurricular programs. “It gives us great pride to donate to the local community,” said Jonathan Brenny, a real estate consultant on the team. “We serve a lot of Crimson families and school staff throughout the year, so they like to know we care about their children and schools.”

“It is well known that Jarrod Peterson and his team donate generously in the community, said Brad Daniels, a local Crimson father and booster member. “They are the first realtors and oftentimes the first business to step up when asked for help. I know he donated to Crimson softball and girls’ hockey teams this year, among many others.”

Reaching Organizations Throughout the Twin Cities

This year the team made new contributions to the STMA Breakfast Club, an organization that is building “the barn” as a place for St. Michael-Albertville High School students to receive Christian fellowship and guidance before and after school. The team also made new contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, an organization that one of their clients holds very dear. “Donating to this nonprofit was the right thing to do, and I know they appreciated it,” Jarrod Peterson said.

Repeat causes included Jarrod Peterson’s focus with Be Pink, for the fifth year in a row. This year, Ashley Peterson, Jarrod’s daughter, and a member of the real estate team, also had an online pink-raiser page to help raise funds. The Jarrod Peterson Real Estate Group was again a community sponsor for Park Nicollet’s Be Pink and helped contribute to its goal of raising $200,000.

Ashley is not the only Peterson family member to support the community through the business; son Nick participated this year in Made in the Shade’s (Virtual) Walk for Homeward Bound, another organization the Jarrod Peterson Real Estate Group has sponsored for over a decade. Homeward Bound operates housing and support services for individuals with disabilities and empowers them to find their voice and realize their full potential.

Simpson Housing Services is another repeat organization benefiting from the support of the Jarrod Peterson Real Estate Group. “Jarrod and his team, along with Edina Realty, made a contribution that will be used toward the new housing development that Simpson is creating to reduce the number of homeless individuals in the Twin Cities,” said Elisabeth Loeffler, Director of Advancement and Communications. “We are so grateful for the donors, like Jarrod, who recognize the need and want to make a difference in our community.” Learn more about this organization and how you, too, can help Simpson Housing Services.

Making a Difference in Our Communities Through Leadership

Giving back financially is not the only thing the group does to support nonprofit organizations. Each team member holds leadership positions as advisory or board members for various organizations. Lynn Chheang, a real estate consultant on the team, leads an organization called The Link, which focuses on helping underserved youth and young families overcome the challenges of poverty and social injustice. “I grew up in a challenging environment,” Chheang said. “Without the network of good people in my local community and supporting nonprofits organizations, my life could be very different. I know the impact we are making every day in society, and I am proud of it.”

Closing Out Another Year of Community Success

As 2021 comes to a close, it is safe to say this year continues to be like no other. We have faced many challenges and hardships but also recovery and triumph every day that reminds us how important community involvement and support is in our society. We’re proud of the communities we serve and love to call home, and proud of all the clients we help to buy/sell/invest every day. Our team will continue to give back to help our neighbors live healthy lives each and every year.
