Reflecting on Another Year of Community Involvement and Support

one of the company's many community involvement and support activities from 2020.

This year has been full of new challenges and hardships to overcome. At the Jarrod Peterson Real Estate Group, we believe strongly in donating time and resources to charity partners that are important to us, our clients, and the communities in which we work and live. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us all to make changes to our daily lives, and we wanted to ensure our tradition of community involvement and support continued through these difficult times.

Supporting Local Organizations and Causes

Our CEO, Jarrod Peterson, has prioritized community support throughout his entire career. He served as a captain of the Good-Neighbor program while at Target Corporation, and while at Capella Education Company, he created Capella’s Community Connection (C3) program. Today, he continues that legacy as CEO of a leading real estate group and works hard to instill that same passion among his team.

One of our Real Estate Consultants, Lynn Chheang, joined an organization called The Link, which focuses on helping underserved youth and young families overcome the challenges of poverty and social injustice. He serves on the Youth Advisory Board.

“I grew up in a challenging environment,” Chheang said. “Without the network of good people in my local community and the supporting nonprofit organizations, my life could be very different. That’s why I’m so passionate about using my wide network of professionals, community leaders, and resources to support The Link’s mission and bring positive change to underserved and underprivileged youth.”

Jonathon Brenny, a real estate consultant, who covers Central Minnesota for our team, uses his passion for giving back to help the communities he serves.

“I donate to the Tom Keating Foundation because of the work they do to support and educate at-risk youth,” says Brenny. “Every little bit helps, and I do my best to donate time and resources to this foundation whenever I am able.”

Maple Grove Crimson Football

When it comes to giving back to the community, it’s no secret that Jarrod proudly supports Maple Grove Crimson sports programs. In June he donated $2,500 to Crimson Football for Maple Grove’s youth and high school football teams. As a result of his continued and generous support, Jarrod is recognized at sporting, academic, and fine art events around the city of Maple Grove. He and his team have also helped a large number of Crimson families buy, sell, and invest over the years.

Park Nicollet Foundation

Jarrod has served as a board member of the Park Nicollet Foundation for four years. He currently co-chairs the Fund Development Committee, Be Pink Breast Cancer Fundraiser, and is a member of the Governance Committee.

He loves supporting the foundation’s mission to “improve the health and well-being of our patients, families, and communities through partnership and philanthropy.”

Local Performing Arts Organizations

Understanding the power that the performing arts have to engage and inspire communities, Jarrod proudly supports local theater organizations. This year, we have donated over $3,500 to local theaters, like the Lyric Arts theater program in Anoka and Yellow Tree Theatre in Osseo.

With 2020 coming to a close, it’s safe to say this year has been unlike any other. As we reflect on the challenges and hardships so many of us have had to face, we’re reminded of how important community involvement and support is in our society. We’re proud of the communities we serve and love to call home, and we will continue giving back to help our neighbors live happy, healthy lives each and every year.
