SURVEY SAYS
Minnesota is home to more than 23,000 licensed real estate agents, so it can seem like an overwhelming process to locate the perfect one. Luckily, we’ve done the work for you. Our seventh annual list of Super Real Estate Agents, compiled by Twin Cities Business, Mpls. St.Paul Magazine, and Crescendo Business Services (a market research company based in Eagan that conducts similar research annually in more than 20 metro areas), lists a total of 680 agents. Here’s how the survey was conducted:
- Approximately 120,000 individuals were eligible to make a nomination. Crescendo asked 16,000 recent homebuyers, 5,000 subscribers of Twin Cities Business and Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, and 500 mortgage and title companies to make a nomination via a telephone survey or paper ballot. All subscribers of Twin Cities Business and Mpls.St.Paul Magazine were eligible to make a nomination online. Nominees were checked against the State of Minnesota database for disciplinary actions, which is grounds for disqualification.
- Real estate agents were graded using nine criteria: communication, customer service, integrity, market knowledge, negotiation, finding the right home, marketing of home, closing preparation, and overall satisfaction. Sales volume did not play a role in the selection process.
- A panel of real estate industry insiders reviewed the nominees, and their comments and suggestions were used to determine the final list of Super Real Estate Agents. In the end, the research process took approximately six months to complete.
